Monthly Archives: November 2012
As you may have noticed I have not been updating a lot. I had some blogposts planned but I later found out some were not completely finished yet. I have to finish and schedule them later. I also don’t have the possibility to do looks in the upcoming week…
I used a kind of serum from my favourite drugstore Kruidvat and I guess my skin didn’t agree with it because it gave me a rash on my eyelids. My skin is very sensitive like that, I even got it from a MAC product once and got it before from other serums and creams and stuff too so it’s not the brands fault but I just have sensitive skin.
And my job has been a bit crazy lately, the company has to cut in budget due to some stupid decisions our government made and now half or our team has to be “moved” to other teams, I actually was very scared I had to get moved around too but luckily I still have my job… for now. But I do have to say goodbye to a lot of my colleagues and that’s given me a lot of stress so my mind just hasn’t been into blogging.
Next week I might have some time to write blogposts but I’m also working night shifts so you never know what’s going to happen. I’m not sure when I can finish anything and I just want to focus on some relaxing fun stuff right now because I feel I might get sucked into depressing thoughts if I don’t. 🙂 Let’s not go there, shall we?
So please forgive me for another hiatus but I hope to get back on track in about a week and a half or something.
For a while I’ve been looking for a nice stretchy black fabrick to make some dresses and tops that I’ve had in mind. But somehow the most simple stuff is hardest to get because I run into loads of black fabric but it’s either non-stretch, too thin so you can see right through it or it’s way too expensive.
Maybe I’m just too picky…
Anyway, my mother found me some fabric that has stripes woven in and I really like it so I got to work and made myself a dress that I’ve had in mind for years.
It’s quite simple actually. It has a split on one side at the leg and a bit of a lower neckline and long sleeves. The fabric is really good for this style of dress because it’s really warm and I wanted to make it for winter because I don’t really have a lot of dresses that are still warm enough for the cold months that are coming soon.
I’m so happy with the result and I’ve been wearing it almost non stop. Because it’s pretty basic I can use all kinds of leggings with funky prints and belts and stuff like that. I’m still working in a little black dress with lace sleeves, also with this fabric.
What do you think of this dress? Would you wear it? Please let me know in the comments. 🙂
Some time ago I entered a giveaway from Blix, from Glitter Is My Crack. She was giving away a voucher for $50 to spend in her jewelry shop called Mon Maiden Jewelry. I have had my eye on her jewely for so long! Even before I was blogging I’ve had, what you can call, a little girl crush on Blix, lol.
She’s drop dead gorgeous but she also makes some amahahazing jewelry. Every single time she mentioned in her blogposts that she had made the blings I was just in awe. And drooling a bit too. Mostly about the jewelry, I might add. Because otherwise I come across as the creepy stalker girl, haha. No seriously, she’s awesome…
Remember I told you about the jewelry project called Polished Beauties Wendy and I started? The days after we got started we’ve been working a lot on that. It’s so much fun to do and I’ve never done anything like this, creating jewelry like this. I love it!
So I thought I’d show some more pictures of what I have been making, to do a little shameless selfpromotion but also to just show you what I’ve been up to…
