Cleopatra’s Black Desert

I’ve been so incredibly busy working and having a social life that making looks has not exactly been a priority. But suddenly I got this feeling I sometimes get, I think of it as inspiration. That little tickle that makes you want to create, you know that feeling? I usually get it when I don’t have time to do anything creative, very convenient (not!) lol.

But I had the next day off and I saw a new part of the Weekly Showcase and I love the theme! You can choose between 2 themes this month: Middle Eastern Bridal Makeup or Roaring 20′s!

So I decided to dig around in my drawer with false lashes and I stumbled upon a pair that I hadn’t used before, aren’t these fabulous? I wanted to stay in the gold and black theme so I used Sugarpill Goldilux and Stella again and as I was searching for inspirational pictures online I saw some great arabic looks with vibrant gold, PERFECT!

Click the link if you want to see what I created with these false lashes. :D

Black and white

This weeks showcase for NTMS was called Black & white! I had a lot of ideas for this challenge but I wanted to do something over the top so I did a lot of thinking about this theme. Then I thought of a MAC Facechart that has been in mijn inspirtational folder for a long time. This one:

Green with envy

Here’s another Weekly Showcase look! This weeks theme was GREEN WITH ENVY.
I’m a green addict when it comes to both nail polish and eyeshadow so I just had to do this one. I had some night shifts at work but when those were done I had time to do it and I’m glad I did.

It’s another look from just one eye. I was actually still very sleepy having only 5 hours of sleep so I just knew if I was going to try 2 looks AND make the look symmetrical, I would just end up failing and frustrating myself.
I started out with just an idea of making this a “spikey” look. I’ve seen envy at work and she’s a mean little bitch so this had to be a look with a sharp edge, so to speak. The green in the lid is from Sugarpill, it’s called Junebug and it’s one of my favourite eyeshadows. The lighter colour green is from MakeUp Store and it’s called Hectic. There’s also a green glitterliner by Gosh, I don’t know which number because the label is gone!

And for the first time ever, I used my Paperself eyelashes. The lovely Wendy gave them to me as a present and I loved them so very much that I was afraid of using them, They’re absolutely gorgeous and I know that you can’t use them over and over again like normal lashes because they’re made out of paper and they tear very fast. But leaving them in my drawer forever is maybe even more of a shame because that way they never get to be seen. So I figured I might as well use them for this look. :D
I first thought I was going to use my green feather lashes but I’m happy I chose these. Oh and yes: I am aware of the fact that these lashes should go “upside down” from the way I used them now, but I thought it looked better this way. ;)

My Lunar Eclipse

I told you before about a Facebook group that I’m in and there was a weekly showcase with this weeks theme: lunar eclipse!!
I loved the theme but I barely had any time to work it out so I did it in a bit of a hurry yesterday morning. I like how it turned out though, it’s not wearable but it was fun to make and it actually had some resemblance to the inspiration picture I used so that’s good. :D

Here’s the inspirational picture I used. I loved the very small strip of moon and the surrounding stars.

I only did one eye so no fullface shots, but this one was about the theme and the fun to have with it so I figured it didn’t need to be an entire fullface look.

Weird fierce

I already told you about the Facebook group I’m in. They have weekly themes and I made the Old Hollywood look for one of the themes and I was browsing through the old themes and I decided to do a look by an old theme of them: Fierce!

I wanted to make a cut crease look with orange and red colors but also grey because that’s the color of the dress that I was wearing. It turned out…. different. It’s not horribly bad but I didn’t really like it. The colors don’t look good and the shape is nice but makes my face look, well… WEIRD
Another thing that bothered me was the lighting. It was already getting dark so the quality of the pictures is not that fabulous either. It basically sucked on many levels…
But I spent a lot of time on it, that’s why I’m still going to post it. It does have a little fierceness in it, lol.
