Monthly Archives: March 2012
Woohoo, this is my 101st blogpost!!!!
Time has gone by so fast and I have to say: I’m so very happy with my blog. No more pressure of having to write every day which ironically gets me more motivated and inspired to write more, lol.
I had been thinking about doing a give-away for some time but I just didn’t get around to do it. But I saw I was pretty close to 100 blogposts and I thought it called for a little celebration.
This is the fifth month my blog exists and I didn’t expect a lot of followers in the first couple of months. But I was stunned by all you guys because a lot of people followed me on Twitter and bloglovin which I didn’t really expect.
I love the comments I get on my looks and ramblings so I want to thank you all for following me. I makes it worth the effort when some people reply on blogposts. But even when they don’t it’s pretty cool to see people actually visit my blog and even keep coming back. With that in mind I want to do this give-away.
I received some products double for reviews when I had already bought the product myself and I asked the company if it would be ok if I put them in this prize and they all said it would be fine so thanks to them I can now give away not 1 but 2 prizes!

Yesterday I showed you the outfit I wore when we went out to see The Hunger Games, but I also made a matching make-up look!
Naturally I wanted to use yellow/gold and red, like I’ve seen a LOT of looks that were inspired by it. They all had the colours of the firedress in it, lol. It’s actually quite logical when you think of it because the book doesn’t talk about outfits or colours a lot and that fire-dress-thing is a part of the book that speaks most to your imagination.
What I like most about this look is the black/gold colour in the inner corner and on the bottom lashline. It’s from an Essence palette from an old collection called Vampire’s Love, the golden colour in the palette. Essence never really managed to get me excited about their eyeshadow but the ones from this palette are actually very good so maybe I’m going to try some more, if you have any recommendations I’d like to hear them.
Last weekend we were going out to dinner and after that we saw The Hunger Games. I had just finished reading the book and I was sooooo excited to see the film. I had to work that morning but I got home early so I still had time to dress up and do my make-up. Today I’ll show you my outfit and tomorrow the make-up look.
I wanted to wear something to match the red make-up I used I I took a red lace top and wore it under a top I once made. This top only has one sleeve so the red lace was shown as the shoulder strap and also at the bottom of the shirt. I wore a black jeans skirt and red leggings with black lace leggings on top of it. And of course the black boots again, I wear them a lot!
I have no idea why I’m posing like a bobblehead doll on the first picture but it shows the outfit so I chose that one anyway. It looks weird though, lol.
About The Hunger Games: I liked it a lot. But I was prejudiced because I had just finished the book a few days before and I loved that. That’s not always a reason to like the film of course but every detail of the book was still in my memory so the parts that someone who hadn’t read the book would have missed, I just completed in my head. My love didn’t read the book and he didn’t like it as much as I did. To him the characters could have been way better explained and therefore they were not as well casted, while I thought every character was brilliantly casted because they were a lot like I had imagined it. The story also didn’t have as much drama as I thought it did because in the film you’re actually racing through the whole story in the arena and the details that make it exciting were left out.
After he told me this I had to think it over and I think I agree with him. If I hadn’t been as excited about the book I probably wouldn’t have liked the film as much as I did. But for all you Hunger Games fans: just go see it. It’s not the most brilliant thing in the world and there are loads of films around that make you work and think along with the story a lot better. But it’s not bad either and I had a great evening, going out to dinner and a movie together is always fun.
Did you see The Hunger Games or are you planning on going to see it? What did you think of it? And what do you think of the outfit? Please let me know in the comments
I made the title for this look because of the lipstick. It’s a new matte lipstick by Catrice for an upcoming collection and I could not resist using it for this look. It’s called Colour Bomb but I made the eyelook with my Inglot palette, the name of the lipstick fitted the look though.
Every time I use that palette it makes me want to buy more Inglot products.
Anyway, on to the look!
I wanted to do another extreme look using my Sugarpill Loose Powders but I could not find any inspiration. That happends a lot and it works for me to go through my wrader with false lashes. I’ve collected quite a few over the past years and I found the lashes I got from the lovely Ilja, she got me these in my package for the Secret Twitter Santa.
So I got to work, I used Sugarpill Goldilux and Stella and Gosh Gold Dust and some rhinestones from Essence.
